Wall Street adds gains after home sales data



    NEW YORK (Reuters) - Wall Street added to gains on Friday after data showed sales of newly built single-family homes rebounded strongly in March to their highest level in eight months.

    The Dow Jones industrial average was up 33.86 points, or 0.30 percent, at 11,168.15. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index added 2.99 points, or 0.25 percent, at 1,211.66. The Nasdaq Composite Index rose 4.42 points, or 0.18 percent, at 2,523.49.

    An index of home builder shares rose 5.5 percent after the data.
