Wall St jumps at open after jobs data


    NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. stocks jumped at the open on Friday, with all three major indexes up more than 1 percent, after the government said employers cut far fewer jobs than expected in November, signaling a strengthening labor market.

    The Dow Jones industrial average was up 101.12 points, or 1 percent, at 10,467.27. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 12.37 points, or 1.12 percent, at 1,112.29. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 26.66 points, or 1.23 percent, at 2,199.80.

    U.S. employers cut 11,000 jobs in December, the smallest decline since the start of the recession in December 2007, the Labor Department said.
