NYSE Euronext Q3 earnings down 27 percent


    LONDON (Reuters) - NYSE Euronext on Friday posted a 28-percent drop in third-quarter net income to $125 million, outperforming market expectations.

    A Thomson Reuters IBES average consensus was for $119.8 million. The year-ago number was $174 million.

    NYSE Euronext's earnings of $0.48 per diluted share were down from $0.66 from the same quarter in 2008.

    Chief Executive Officer Duncan Niederauer said the bourse continued to see stabilization in its core businesses.
