Wall St extends losses on data; commods slide



    NEW YORK (Reuters) - The Nasdaq fell 3 percent on Monday while the Dow industrials and S&P 500 fell to session lows, as a pullback in commodity prices weighed on resource shares and weak New York State manufacturing data hurt investor sentiment.

    * Big-cap technology companies fall on profit-taking.

    * The Dow Jones industrial average dropped 215.32 points, or 2.45 percent, to 8,583.94. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index fell 26.29 points, or 2.78 percent, to 919.92. The Nasdaq Composite Index lost 53.88 points, or 2.90 percent, to 1,804.92.
