Nikkei slips 1 percent after rally



    TOKYO (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei average fell 1 percent on Tuesday after booking a six-month closing high the previous day, with financial shares taking a breather following sharp gains fueled by optimism about the U.S. banking system.

    The benchmark NIKKEI (NIKKEI225.) slipped 93.73 points to 9,358.25. It rose 0.2 percent the previous day to its highest close since November 5.

    The broader Topix shed 0.9 percent to 892.54.
