New Polish PM keeps finance minister, brings rival into government
At a ceremony to unveil the new cabinet line-up, she said that Grzegorz Schetyna, seen as a rival to her in the ruling party, would enter the government as foreign minister. He replaces Radoslaw Sikorski, who is the ruling coalition's nominee to become speaker of parliament.
Defence Minister Tomasz Siemoniak keeps his post, and was promoted to the status of deputy prime minister. Treasury Minister Wlodzimierz Karpinski, who oversees the state's stakes in some of Poland's biggest companies, also kept his job.
Former parliamentary speaker Kopacz is taking over as prime minister from Donald Tusk, who is moving to Brussels to become president of the European Council. The new government is to be sworn in by the president on Monday.
