Germany says kidnapped aid worker freed in Somalia



    BERLIN (Reuters) - A German aid worker kidnapped in northwestern Somalia has been freed, the German Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.

    The man was safe, a ministry spokesman said, referring toinformation he had received from the man's employer, the GermanAgro Action (GAA), also known as Deutsche Welthungerhilfe.

    The aid worker was kidnapped after gunmen ambushed his caron Tuesday in Era Gabo, a town in the breakaway republic ofSomaliland.
