Irish government to hold by-election by end November

DUBLIN (Reuters) - Ireland's government will move a law allowing a by-election to be held for a vacant parliamentary seat on Thursday and the vote will take place before the end of November, a spokeswoman for the government said on Wednesday.

Ireland's High Court earlier upheld a challenge by opposition party Sinn Fein that a by-election for one of four vacant lower-house seats needed to be held as soon as possible.
