Wall Street opens down after GDP


    NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stocks opened lower on Friday after data showed U.S. economic growth slowed more than expected in the second quarter, underscoring worries about the recovery.

    The Dow Jones industrial average was down 81.74 points, or 0.78 percent, at 10,385.42. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 9.92 points, or 0.90 percent, at 1,091.61. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 23.76 points, or 1.06 percent, at 2,227.93.
