Flemish party withdraws support for Belgian govt

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - The Flemish liberal party withdrew its support for the five-party coalition of Belgian Prime Minister Yves Leterme Thursday, threatening the five-month-old government with collapse.

Without the liberal Open VLD party's backing, Leterme's government has only a slim majority with 76 of the 150 seats in the lower house of parliament.
