Mexican singer Julio Preciado arrested on fraud charges
Preciado, a former member of the Limon and El Recodo bands, posted a video on his Facebook page in which he revealed that he had to appear in court because of an arrest warrant against him.
"The problem is not tax fraud. It's a problem with the Federal Electricity Commission for the abusive way they make excessive charges for electricity," the singer said.
"They're demanding a payment of more than 900,000 pesos ($54,446) for a light bill, and I proceeded to sue them so as not to pay it," Preciado said.
The singer of norteño lyrics maintained that "everything is fine, it didn't go any further," and said he will continue with the legal procedure and will soon post another video providing all the information about the case.
