Bomb hits outskirts of Nigeria's northeastern city Maiduguri


    MAIDUGURI, Nigeria (Reuters) - A bomb went off on the outskirts of Nigeria's northeastern city Maiduguri around midday on Monday, a military source said.

    The city is the birthplace of Islamist jihadi sect Boko Haram.
