Bomb in central Damascus kills five - Syrian Observatory group

BEIRUT (Reuters) - A bomb in Marjeh Square in central Damascus killed at least five people, a monitoring group said, and footage from a pro-government television channel showed widespread damage.

The blast comes a day after Syrian Prime Minister Wael al-Halki survived a bomb attack on his convoy in Damascus which killed six people. Al-Ikhbariya television showed footage of two bodies and the square filled with white smoke.
