Blast in southern Afghan city


    KANDAHAR, Afghanistan (Reuters) - An explosion shook the outskirts of the southern Afghan city of Kandahar on Sunday and may have killed a number of people, witnesses said.

    The cause of the blast could not be known immediately.Taliban insurgents have been behind a number of suicide attacksand roadside bomb blasts in the area in recent years.
