Blast at hotel in Islamabad wounds six

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - A blast at a hotel in a commercial area of the Pakistani capital Islamabad on Thursday wounded six people, rescue officials said.

Police at the scene said the cause of the explosion on the fifth floor of the Citi Hotel was not clear.

Pakistan's Taliban movement, which is close to al Qaeda, carries out suicide bombings as part of a campaign to topple the U.S.-backed government. Militant attacks in Islamabad are rare.
