China floods, landslides force 55,000 to flee - report
Days of downpours across central and southern China have already killed nearly 100 people, the Chinese government said on Monday.
"A new round of heavy rain has started to batter several southern regions, causing more deaths and triggering floods and landslides which had forced over 55,000 people to evacuate their homes as of late Tuesday," Xinhua reported.
"The rain is forecast to last till Friday in some regions, according to local meteorological authorities," the agency added.
