Strong quake hits south of Concepcion, Chile

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A strong quake of 6.0 magnitude struck on Sunday about 23 miles south of Concepcion, Chile, at a depth of 10.4 miles, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

There was no immediate report of damage or injuries.

One year ago today, February 27, Chile was hit with a massive quake that killed more than 500 people and caused some $30 billion (18 billion pounds) in damage.
