Magnitude 5.9 quake hits Chile but no damage reported
"There have been no reports of any injuries or damage to infrastructure," a spokeswoman for state emergency office Onemi said. "A tsunami has been ruled out."
The tremor, at a depth of 15.8 miles (25 km), was in the same region as a massive 8.8 magnitude quake and ensuing tsunamis that battered Chile a year ago, ravaging towns and roads and killing hundreds.
