Four NATO soldiers killed in Afghan bomb attack

KABUL (Reuters) - Four members of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force were killed on Wednesday in an improved explosive device (IED) attack in southern Afghanistan, the alliance said in a statement.

Another ISAF member died in a separate insurgent attack elsewhere in the country, NATO said.

This has been the bloodiest period since the Taliban were ousted in 2001 as a troop surge brings to around 150,000 the number of foreign forces fighting against the insurgency.
