USGS reports 6.7 magnitude quake in Bering Sea



    WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Geological Survey reported a 6.7 magnitude earthquake in the Bering Sea, 302 miles (486 km) southwest of Gambell, Alasa, at a depth of 6.2 miles (10 km).

    The quake struck just east of Russia at 2311 GMT (16:11 PDT, 19:11 EDT).

    The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre said there was no tsunami watch, warning or advisory for the surrounding coastlines of Alaska or Russia.
