Russia's Medvedev visits N.Caucasus after bombings



    MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev made a surprise visit to the republic of Dagestan on Thursday, a day after suicide bombers killed at least 12 people in the turbulent North Caucasus region.

    Medvedev arrived in the local capital of Makhachkala where he will hold an emergency meeting with security officials and regional leaders, a Kremlin spokesman said.

    Medvedev was accompanied by Russia's top security officials.
