Nikkei down 0.6 percent


    TOKYO (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei average fell 0.6 percent on Thursday, with a much stronger yen hurting exporters such as Kyocera Corp, and after Wall Street fell as initial optimism from the Federal Reserve's rate cut faded.

    The benchmark NIKKEI (NIKKEI225.)shed 47.36 points to 8,565.16, after rising 0.5 percent the previous day.

    The broader Topix also slipped 0.6 percent to 833.81.
