GM to scale back production at three US plan


    DETROIT (Reuters) - General Motors Corp said on Friday it will eliminate third production shift at three plants.

    Highlights:

    * Says shifts to be eliminated at plants in Michigan, Ohio, Canada

    * Says move will mean layoffs almost 2,000 workers

    * Says moves will slow production of cars including Malibu, Cobalt, G6 and G5
