Bridgewater Systems Announces Completion of IMS Interoperability Testing with BEA Systems

Bridgewater Systems today announced the successful completion of
interoperability testing between its Home Subscriber Server (HSS) and
BEA WebLogic SIP Server(TM). Bridgewater Systems recently joined the
BEA Systems Partner Program, and is now working with BEA, a leader in
enterprise and communications infrastructure software. This effort is
designed to help service providers quickly and cost-effectively launch
new IP-based communication and collaboration services with proven
integrated Bridgewater Systems' subscriber-centric policy management
solutions and BEA communications infrastructure software.

This interoperability testing milestone pairs Bridgewater Systems'
proven HSS solution with the BEA WebLogic SIP Server, the converged
Java EE-SIP-IMS application server component of the BEA WebLogic
Communications Platform(TM) product family - a converged IT and
telecom service infrastructure platform for IMS (IP Multimedia
Subsystem) and next-generation Service Delivery Platforms (SDP). It
also marks a demonstration of BEA WebLogic SIP Server utilizing an
operational HSS with a Diameter interface, designed to help service
providers to seamlessly incorporate their Bridgewater Systems HSS with
BEA WebLogic SIP Server so that they can quickly and reliably enable
    new IMS applications.

"Breadth of interoperability testing is an important indicator of
market demand and momentum," said Tyler Nelson, vice president of
business development and marketing, Bridgewater Systems. "This
partnership marks an important step in the commercialization of IMS
and is designed to address the needs of service providers looking to
rapidly bring new services to market. It also builds on our continued
interoperability work with world-class companies as we facilitate
    best-in-breed solutions across the industry."

Bridgewater's HSS solution is designed to serve as a master
repository of subscriber profiles and policies necessary for
authentication, authorization and establishment of subscriber
sessions, providing a single policy decision point in the IMS network
to control subscriber access to applications.

BEA WebLogic SIP Server is a high-performance, highly available
IMS application server which is designed to provide an integrated SIP
Servlet and HTTP Servlet container to help enable rapid development
and delivery of next-generation, converged, multimedia communication
services. BEA WebLogic SIP Server is the converged IT-IMS service
logic creation and execution component of the BEA WebLogic
    Communications Platform.

"Working with Bridgewater Systems is another step toward
strengthening our telecom partner ecosystem," said Mike McHugh, vice
president and general manager, BEA WebLogic Communications Platform,
BEA Systems. "Our partnership with Bridgewater can help enable us to
provide service providers a meaningful solution in the near term and
is designed to help open the door for the pursuit of supporting other
    IMS applications."
