U.S. crude futures up more than $4 ahead of OPEC
Stronger global stock markets also helped fuel some optimism that the economic slowing may not be as severe as has been recently feared.
On the New York Mercantile Exchange at 1:44 p.m. EDT, November crude was up $3.39, or 4.7 percent, at $75.24 a barrel, trading from $71.77 to $76.00.
