Rohm and Haas Presented Avanse Technology at Building and Construction Seminar

Specialty materials company Rohm and Haas (NYSE: ROH) presented their innovative AvanseTM technology at the Building and Construction Seminar in Kassel, Germany, on October 14th and 15th.

AvanseTM technology is a first–of–its–kind, environmentally advanced waterborne acrylic latex polymer that provides high–performance along with greater ease of use and the convenience of a single–component coating. Both users and legislators welcome it because the coating can improve environmental profiles and better protect worker health and safety.

The building and construction event was an important platform by which to showcase Rohm and Haas´s strength in innovation in the building and construction industry. "The majority of our competitors and several important customers in the building and construction industry participated as well," said one of the Rohm and Haas presenters at the conference, Christian H. Herrmanns, marketing manager, Building and Construction - Europe. "We received visibility as a company and had the chance to present one of our most recent breakthrough technologies."

Participants, who included coatings formulators for facades, roofing and flooring, were particularly interested in AvanseTM technology´s surface protection for both metal and concrete. Co–presenter Guy Clamen, group leader, Functional Coatings, said, "AvanseTM acrylic polymer is important to the current global building and construction market because it can deliver optimum adhesion to a range of substrates, and contribute to efflorescence resistance, corrosion resistance, and stain blocking properties, all of which are common to a range of applications in the industry."

According to Clamen, the technology achieves this at a very good cost to performance ratio. This is because there is the possibility of reducing the binder and pigment levels in the formulations based on the product´s ability to allow an optimum distribution of pigments and extenders within the polymeric matrix.
