Adept Technology Introduces AdeptSight 2.0 at Motek 2006 International Trade Show in Sinsheim Germany

Adept Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADEP), the leading provider of
intelligent vision-guided robotics and global robotics services, today
    introduced AdeptSight(TM) 2.0, a powerful expansion of Adept's
    PC-based machine vision product portfolio.

AdeptSight 2.0 takes Adept beyond Robot Vision Guidance and
introduces a number of new features and capabilities that make it
easier and more cost-effective for systems integrators and automation
users to design and use vision guidance and inspection in
    manufacturing.

AdeptSight 2.0 includes a new Color option, adding acquisition and
calibration of color images, a color matching tool, and color
processing necessary for advanced part inspection. New calibration
wizards now support additional camera positions: arm-mounted,
tool-mounted, and upward facing cameras to enable development of
"inspect while moving" or "vision-on-the-fly" applications.
Additionally, AdeptSight 2.0 is now packaged and available for both
integrated robot guidance and inspection or as a fully standalone
    vision inspection product.

"With AdeptSight 2.0, material inspection, handling and assembly
are made even more flexible, powerful and cost effective," said Gordon
Deans, Vice-President Business Development and General Manager, Adept
Technology Canada. "The new color locator capability was specifically
developed for high speed packaging applications and the new camera
mounting options and simplified calibration wizards open up a much
broader range of markets and customers to Adept vision products."

AdeptSight 2.0 runs on commercial PCs with Microsoft(R) Windows(R)
and comes complete with all the necessary hardware including camera,
lens and accessories. AdeptSight is an easy-to-use, standalone vision
guidance and inspection package. Incorporated into the Adept
DeskTop(TM) development environment, it integrates vision guidance
with the complete line-up of Adept Cobra SCARA, Adept Viper 6-axis and
    Adept Python linear robots.
