Cameron to meet EU's Juncker on Friday - spokeswoman


    LONDON (Reuters) - British Prime Minister David Cameron has cancelled a trip to Sweden and Denmark on Friday and will instead meet European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker to discuss his EU renegotiation, a spokeswoman said.

    Cameron had been due to meet the prime ministers of Sweden and Denmark to discuss his plans to reform Britain's EU ties before a membership referendum. He has said he hopes to reach a deal at a Feb. 18-19 summit of EU leaders.

    "The prime minister will travel to Brussels on Friday for a bilateral with president of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, to discuss the UK's renegotiation of its membership with the EU," the spokeswoman said in a statement.

    "He will therefore no longer be travelling to Sweden and Denmark."
