Pace Launches High Definition PVR For Cable & Satellite At IBC2006; Digiturk Announced as First Customer


    Pace Micro Technology plc (LSE:PIC), the leading
    independent developer of digital TV technologies for the global payTV
    industry, launched its high definition (HD) personal video recorder
    (PVR) platform, the TDx850, in both satellite (TDS850) and cable
    (TDC850) versions at IBC2006.

    Satellite HD PVR

    The TDS850 comes with H.264 decoding and triple tuners, as well as
    Dolby Digital Plus for the ultimate HD experience. Dual DVB-S2 tuners
    enable the user to watch one channel while recording another or record
    two channels while watching stored content. The third tuner is DVB-S
    compliant to enable a dedicated push-VOD service and enhanced
    electronic programming guide (EPG).
    The TDS850 has recently been selected by Digiturk to launch its HD
    service in Turkey next year. The TDS850IDI comes with in-built Irdeto
    conditional access and OpenTV middleware.

    Cable HD PVR

    The TDC850 comes with H.264 decoding, Dolby Digital Plus and
    triple DVB-C tuners, enabling the end-user to record up to three
    different channels at the same time - making it very useful for
    today's busy families. The TDC850 also comes with an integrated DOCSIS
    2.0 cable modem to enable full interactivity and triple play, as well
    as push-VOD services.
    Both versions of this innovative set-top box come with a minimum
    250Gb hard drive, which allows up to 60 hours of HD - or 120 hours of
    standard definition - content to be stored, with optional upgrades
    available.
    HDCP is used for secure transfer of digital signals to the display
    via HDMI, while the auto set-up function enables easy and quick
    configuration with most display types.
