Alfresco Co-Founder and CTO John Newton Named Association for Information and Image Management Fellow
Alfresco Software, a leading provider of modern enterprise content management (ECM) and business process management (BPM) software, today announced that CTO and co-founder John Newton has been inducted into the Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM) Company of Fellows. This honor is bestowed upon AIIM members “who merit recognition and distinction for their outstanding contributions to the ECM industry.”
Mr. Newton has been an instrumental part of the ECM industry for nearly three decades. In 1990, he pioneered content management by co-founding and developing Documentum. Fifteen years later, Mr. Newton disrupted the industry by establishing Alfresco with a commitment to open standards in the development of content solutions for the modern enterprise. As CTO of Alfresco, Mr. Newton leads technical direction that delivers on the company’s vision to provide innovative solutions that anticipate business needs in real time, connecting individuals with information when and where it’s needed.

Mr. Newton’s induction into the Company of Fellows was presented at the AIIM Awards Ceremony during the 2015 AIIM Conference in San Diego, California.
