Roamware Wins 'Traffic Redirection' Patent

The United States Patent Office today recognised
Roamware, Inc. for its pioneering work in mobile traffic redirection -
the ability for a network operator to redirect subscribers to the most
advantageous network whilst roaming abroad - issuing Roamware United
States Patent Number 7,072,651, entitled "Method and System for
Cellular Network Traffic Redirection," and exclusive patent rights
    over its broadly-worded claims.
Roamware, with its "Traffic Redirection" suite of products for
public mobile networks, is widely recognized as the global leader in
enabling the steering of roaming mobile traffic, having been the first
to market with commercial traffic redirection solutions in 2003, and
with more deployments worldwide today than any other roaming services
    provider.
"The focus and energy we invest in our patent effort preserve our
competitive advantage in international roaming technology and
value-added services for voice and messaging. This advantage benefits
the mobile operators we serve worldwide," says Roamware CEO Bobby
Srinivasan. "By working with Roamware, our customers receive the
excellent standard of service expected of a global product leader, and
    also unmatched innovation."
The newly issued patent, entitled "Method and System for Cellular
Network Traffic Redirection" is a milestone in Roamware's patent
practice, marking its first issued patent. The company currently has
an additional 39 unique patent applications on file in the US, with a
total of over 60 in progress worldwide.
"This patent evidences Roamware as the inventor of the type of
active and passive SS7 based roaming traffic redirection mechanisms
which form the basis of the GSMA IR 73 guideline on Steering of
Roaming," says John Jiang, Roamware CTO and company representative on
the GSM Association's "Steering of Roaming" council. "The patent
further solidifies Roamware's leadership position in innovation of
roaming and local value added services."
The awarding of the patent is the result of dedicated work from
the following five Roamware team members: John Jiang, Avnish Chauhan,
Subhabrata Biswas, Bahadur Bhambhani and Alex Rodrigues.
