Finnish Lemcon Develops a New Kind of Industrial Park Concept in Russia

Lemcon Ltd, a Finnish company specializing in the demanding

building construction and civil engineering industry, is proud to

present a new development project of an industrial park in Russia´s

Kaluga region, about 200 kilometres south-west of Moscow. Lemcon is part

    of Lemminkäinen Group (HEX:LEM1S), a

construction company operating internationally in all areas of the

construction sector. Lemcon has taken possession of the land site of 135 hectares in

Vorotynsk settlement located not far from Kaluga city, the regional

centre. The idea is to offer companies investing in Russia a fast and

low-risk way of establishing themselves in the growing Russian market. The completion of the project will allow a number of industrial

enterprises and logistics centers to start up production in the near

future. The total building area to be constructed is up to 500,000 m2.

There are some incontestable advantages for companies willing to locate

their enterprises in the Kaluga region, such as good vehicle access, tax

benefits for foreign investors, skilled labor power and all necessary

power resources in the region. A number of big international companies

have already placed their enterprises in Kaluga. One of the new ideas is the concept of providing specialized zones to

various industry segments. For instance, automobile suppliers can truly

benefit from the close proximity of their sub-suppliers, as many value

the fact that their competitor is next door. Furthermore, the companies

establishing their manufacturing operations for first time in Russia

need a lot of support, which is provided by Lemcon and its partners. Lemminkäinen Group Lemminkäinen Group operates in all areas

of the construction sector. Its main business sectors are building

construction, infrastructure construction, technical building services

and building products. Net sales in 2007 were approx. EUR 2.2 billion

of which international operations accounted for over a quarter. The

Group employs about 9,200 people. Lemminkäinen´s

share is quoted on OMX Nordic Exchange Helsinki. Lemcon Lemcon Ltd has operated in over 70 countries of the world. The

operations in Russia started already in 1972.Lemcon Ltd is part of

    Lemminkäinen Group and an international

project contractor that derives more than half of its business from

    projects abroad.
