Moovweb Appoints Managing Director for EMEA

Moovweb today announced that the company has expanded its operations in Europe with the appointment of Doug Bilsby as managing director of the company’s Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) operations. Based in London, Bilsby will spearhead the effort to empower European businesses to unify their mobile development and delivery using Moovweb’s cloud-based platform.

“Moovweb revenues have quadrupled in the last 18 months and expanding into EMEA is the next logical step for us as a company,” said Ajay Kapur, CEO and founder, Moovweb. “Doug has a proven track record in the mobile industry and shares our vision of fundamentally transforming Web development to create unmatched business agility for organizations of all sizes."

Bilsby joins Moovweb with extensive experience in leading international efforts at mobile development and software companies. He most recently served as managing director of EMEA for Appcelerator, a leading mobile development platform. Bilsby has also held senior international sales and marketing positions at Experian, a global leader in consumer and business analytics and marketing services; Endeca, an information applications company providing vertical software solutions; and Infor, an enterprise software solutions provider for customer relationship management.

“According to comScore, more than 55 percent of mobile users in the top five European markets, including France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom, are smartphone users,” said Doug Bilsby. “This is a 35 percent increase over 2011, and that number will only continue to rise. In order to take advantage of this seismic movement, European businesses need to embrace mobile in a scalable model that also delivers amazing experiences. I’m excited to join the company in this time of high growth.”

The Moovweb experience platform empowers businesses to go mobile by taking a fundamentally different approach to unifying their Web and mobile development. With Moovweb’s site virtualization technology, a business’s mobile sites and apps inherit and stay in sync with a desktop site’s content, features and business logic. This approach allows powerful mobile experiences to be delivered in days, not months, and drives radically improved business agility over time. The cloud-based Moovweb platform has transformed more than 12 billion mobile pages for some of the highest volume mobile sites, apps and tablet applications in the world.
