TAC Achieves European BACnet Certification by the BACnet and WSPCert Testing Laboratories as a BACnet(R) Building Controller

TAC (www.tac.com), a leading provider of building automation,
energy and security solutions, is pleased to announce that the bCX1
controller/router series of building controllers has earned a BACnet
Testing Laboratories (BTL) and WSPCert Laboratories listing as a
BACnet(R) Building Controller (B-BC). This is the second independent
laboratory that has certified the bCX1 for a B-BC listing, the most
comprehensive profile that the laboratory tests. The bCX1
controller/router BTL B-BC listing can be seen on the BTL Product
Listings page of the BACnet Manufacturers Association Web site,
    http://www.bacnetassociation.org/btl/Listings/TAC/, along with 24
other listed products from TAC. Furthermore, the BACnet Interest Group
Europe (BIG-EU) also lists the bCX1 on its Web site of conforming
    BACnet devices, www.big-eu.org/conformance/listeu.php/.

The BTL requires that a B-BC device comply with The American
Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers
(ASHRAE) BACnet standard in all five interoperable areas: data
sharing, alarm and event management, scheduling, trending, and device
and network management. Open and standardized communication protocols,
such as BACnet, enable the integration of control devices of various
manufacturers within one single building automation system.

In addition, TAC engaged the independent certification body,
WSPCert, to conduct further testing on the bCX1 series. Passing these
rigorous tests further validates the product´s technology leadership,
value and quality standard. WSPCert is located in Stuttgart, Germany
and is accredited according to EN 45011 by DAP.

"The building automation industry in Europe and the U.S. continues
to set high standards for BACnet interoperability," said Jon
Williamson, TAC´s product manager. "Earning the BACnet and WSPCert
certifications assures our customers that the bCX1 is the strongest
solution on the market to interoperate with other BTL-listed BACnet
    products."

TAC´s Andover Continuum bCX1 Series is a series of Native BACnet
routers and controller/routers, which heads up the BACnet family of
Continuum controllers. The Continuum bCX1 controller/router series is
available in three models, two of which support the BACnet protocol.
These controllers reside at the network level and route BACnet
messages between BACnet/IP, BACnet over Ethernet and MS/TP networks
and can serve as a BACnet Broadcast Management Device (BBMD), allowing
for routing of messages between IP networks. They provide support for
features such as BACnet trend logs, calendars and schedules, an
embedded Web server, and DC input power for hookup to UPS systems.

    About BACnet Testing Laboratories

The BACnet Testing Laboratories (BTL), which is part of the BACnet
Manufacturers Association (BMA), offers a product testing and listing
program for products that have BACnet capability. The BTL´s authorized
test laboratories will test the BACnet functionality of a product to a
set of requirements developed by the BTL that are based on ASHRAE
Standard 135.1P. Products that meet the BTL´s requirements are
eligible to receive a BTL listing.
