Gazprom halves gas to Ukraine

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian gas export monopoly Gazprom halved supplies to Ukraine from 1700 GMT on Tuesday and said more cuts could follow if no deal is reached over Kiev's debt for previous deliveries.

Gazprom's spokesman Sergei Kupriyanov told journalistsGazprom had no information so far about any attempt by Ukraineto start taking gas from export pipelines to Europe.
