Configuresoft Extends Continuous Compliance Capabilities for VMware ESX 3.5

Configuresoft, the world´s leading enterprise server configuration
management company, today announced at VMworld Europe the extension of
its industry-leading continuous compliance capabilities for VMware
with support for ESX 3.5 and new Center for Policy and Compliance
(CP&C) templates for VMware Infrastructure 3 Hardening Guidelines and
    VMware Virtual Center Best Practices.

ECM for Virtualization complements VMware´s Virtual Center by
allowing IT operations a holistic, "at-a-glance" view of the virtual
infrastructure to understand the correlations of the guests, hosts and
the associated relationships across the entire virtualized landscape.
With support for VMware Infrastructure 3 Hardening Guidelines and
VMware Virtual Center Best Practices, users are able to easily ensure
continuous compliance with VMware´s recommendations for maintaining
    security and operational efficiency.

"ECM for Virtualization´s ability to provide a
single-pane-of-glass view of the infrastructure has dramatically
simplified AmeriCredit´s move to a virtual infrastructure, while
maintaining our ongoing security posture and compliance," said Larry
Brandt, Assistant Vice President of Windows Server Operations for
AmeriCredit. "Through the compliance toolkits´ user-friendly
´plug-and-play´ integration features with ECM, we are able to ensure
compliance with VMware´s published best practices as well as
compliance with a range of regulatory standards."

Dashboards such as "Virtual Security Posture" and "Top 10
Non-Compliant Virtual Environments" have allowed ECM for
Virtualization administrators to pinpoint areas of non-compliance,
visualize guest/host relationships, drill through to the supporting
detail, and take the required actions to remediate.

"One of the primary challenges IT operations face when managing
highly virtualized environments is the ability to understand the
dependencies between physical servers, operating systems, application
and business functions," said Dr. Dennis Moreau, CTO of Configuresoft.
"With these challenges present, it was important for us to support ESX
3.5 as quickly as possible. ECM for Virtualization´s unique ability to
provide a complete picture of the virtual environments - including
VMware ESX 3.5 - is enhanced by these critical templates. Users can
enjoy a new level of security, compliance and control for their
virtualized environments, while still ensuring usability and the
    tremendous benefits virtualization provides."

Configuresoft´s Center for Policy & Compliance (CP&C) offers its
VMware Hardening Compliance Toolkits and virtualization reports to ECM
for Virtualization customers. Each toolkit consists of a set of
rule-based templates, reports and dashboards which easily plug into
ECM to ensure security and operational compliance within VMware´s
Hardening Guidelines that provide certified compatibility guides which
list System, I/O, Storage/SAN and Backup compatibility with VMware
Infrastructure and previous versions of VMware ESX Server.
