Richard Burrows Named Non-Executive Board Member at Mey Icki
Mey Icki, one of Europe´s largest producers of spirits, announced
today that Richard Burrows joined its Board of Directors as a
non-executive member, effective January 8, 2008. He will be involved
primarily in strategic planning for the company´s long term growth.
Mey Icki is owned by TPG Capital, one of the world´s leading
private equity firms.
Richard Burrows, 62, is Governor of the Bank of Ireland and a
non-executive director of Pernod Ricard and of Rentokil Initial plc.
He was joint chief executive officer of Pernod Ricard from 2000 until
his retirement at the end of 2005. Prior to that, he had been chief
executive of Irish Distillers in Dublin since 1978. He has been
chairman of the Scotch Whisky Association (2005-2007), and President
of the Irish Business and Employers Confederation (1998-2000).
