Brent dives to 6-month low below $100, U.S. crude near $77


    SINGAPORE (Reuters) - Brent crude plunged to a six-month trough below $100 a barrel on Tuesday in a two-session drop of almost $10, after the U.S. credit rating downgrade exacerbated concerns about slowing economic activity and energy demand in the world's top oil user.

    Brent (brent.167)crude fell as much as $3.77 to $99.97 a barrel, the lowest intraday price since February 8, and was down $3.19 at $100.55 by 0129 GMT. U.S. crude fell $4.06 to $77.25.
