UK and Germany Drive Continued Growth of Monster Employment Index Europe
The Monster Employment Index Europe grew sharply by six points in
November, as the UK and Germany reported strong gains in online job
availability. The rise brought the Index up to a level of 155, marking
a third month of growth across Europe and bringing year-on-year growth
up to 30 points, or 24 per cent. The Monster Employment Index Europe
is a monthly analysis of millions of online job opportunities culled
from a large, representative selection of corporate career sites and
job boards across Europe, including Monster.
"The European labour market continues to gain pace, with leading
economies including the UK and Germany showing strong growth trends,"
said Andrea Bertone, Regional Director, Monster Worldwide Europe. "In
fact, we are seeing strong demand for workers in the marketing, PR and
media sector, while such jobs are often the first to be shed in times
of industry recession and the last to return in strength during times
of growth."
