Banca Antonveneta Redefines the ATM Experience in Italy with Phoenix´s VISTAatm Software
Banca Antonveneta, based in Italy, is the first to adopt the ABN
AMRO global strategy for multi-vendor self-service software. Phoenix´s
VISTAatm is the software of choice as part of a global strategy to
install multi-vendor software to support extensive global
functionality configured for local requirements, multiple languages
and a multitude of back-end, geographically isolated integration
points. This initial implementation includes the endorsement of the
VISTAatm solution with Italy´s Co.Ge.Ban. standards body as certified
by Progetto Microcircuito. During the selection process, several
competing bids for this project were reviewed including solutions from
the hardware manufacturers. Global capabilities in development,
implementation, support and dynamic usability as well as a
comprehensive proof of concept set the stage for Phoenix and VISTAatm
to solidify the bank´s selection of Phoenix as their chosen partner.
Banca Antonveneta has recently launched a pilot of the solution on the
Wincor-Nixdorf 3100 platform in Padova, Italy as a first step toward
full network rollout.
"The bank´s mandate to adopt new ATM / Self-service technology was
required to fit into an overall ´open bank´ architecture strategy to
deliver more seamless cross-channel integration to our customers. It
was imperative that we choose a partner who not only fulfilled the
technical requirements and capabilities for delivering a robust and
dynamic solution across our many device makes and models but one who
could also act as a trusted expert and consultant in the self-service
industry as we upgrade our software and networking infrastructure,"
said Carlo Di Lello, Head of IT Architecture at Banca Antonveneta.
"Phoenix´s partnership with Banca Antonveneta goes beyond supplying us
with software. They have been an instrumental contributor to the
solution design of our ATM infrastructure as we deliver our ´Open
Bank´ strategy and they´ve enabled us to accomplish this under very
aggressive timelines."
Banca Antonveneta (once a wholly owned subsidiary of the Dutch
bank ABN AMRO) will use Phoenix´s VISTAatm solution to drive its 1100+
ATM/Self-service Devices spanning Wincor-Nixdorf, Diebold Opteva,
Diebold ATS, Diebold Ulysses and NCR with a single runtime application
supporting multiple languages, Italian-specific functionality /
payments support and Italian-specific networking inclusive of the
Co.Ge.Ban. requirements. The solution will also introduce
personalization and envelope-free deposit automation with bulk cash
and bulk check acceptance as part of its first phase of rollout.
Kyle MacDonald, chief executive officer of Phoenix noted that, "we
are incredibly proud to have been selected by Banca Antonveneta. This
bank and its previous parent bank ABN AMRO is clearly prepared to
modernize their self-service offering. In choosing Phoenix as their
technology provider and industry partner Banca Antonveneta and Phoenix
together will set the bar for the future of all ATMs in Italy. We
congratulate the bank for their vision and diligence in selecting the
best partner for the task to redefine their ATM network and we thank
them for their trust in Phoenix!"
