Leading Spanish Insurer Deploys Force10 Networks TeraScale E-Series to Bring Always-On Application Access to Its Data Centers

Force10 Networks(R), the pioneer in building and securing reliable
networks, today announced that Adeslas, a leading health insurance
company in Spain, has successfully deployed the TeraScale E-Series(R)
family of switch/routers at the foundation of its network to connect
its Madrid data centers and provide reliable, always-on application
    access.

"Our data centers house all of our applications that are used in
branch offices, hospitals and corporate headquarters, making network
reliability a crucial element to providing seamless and high quality
service," said Alberto Sisi Moreno, information systems director at
Adeslas. "Force10 provides us with the confidence of knowing that as
our network capacity and traffic demands increase, the E-Series will
deliver the reliable performance we need to ensure network
    availability."

The Force10 TeraScale E-Series uniquely combines the crucial
performance characteristics of reliability, network control and
scalability to power Adeslas' data centers and business applications,
such as web services and file sharing, that are used within its branch
offices and corporate headquarters, as well as hospitals throughout
    Spain.

The built-in resiliency of the Force10 TeraScale E-Series provides
the reliability Adeslas needs to efficiently process the increasing
amount of traffic created by additional employees, hospital staff and
customers without compromising performance. To serve this growth
without consistently adding new devices, the TeraScale E-Series
delivers up to 1,260 Gigabit or 224 Ten Gigabit Ethernet ports,
providing a seamlessly scalable network foundation.

The modular Force10 Operating System (FTOS) software features an
industry standard command line interface that enables Adeslas to
simplify the process of software upgrades and system management by
leveraging its existing knowledge base. The passive nature of the
TeraScale E-Series copper backplane eliminates it as a single point of
failure, providing further system-level reliability that is critical
in maintaining network uptime and ensuring always-on access to
Adeslas' business critical applications. Working in conjunction with
the backplane is a three CPU architecture that distributes switching,
routing and management functions to task-specific processors,
    providing system and memory protection.

"Organizations like Adeslas must build out their network
infrastructure to better support new and evolving applications as well
as a more distributed workforce and growing community of customers,"
said Stephen Garrison, vice president of marketing at Force10
Networks. "The Force10 TeraScale E-Series creates strategic value by
providing reliability as well as industry-leading port density to
ensure optimum ROI and long-term investment protection."

Force10's Reliable Networking product portfolio delivers the
reliability, network control and scalability required to build a
network that is application ready. With built-in flexibility,
businesses like Adeslas can leverage Force10 switches and routers to
transform their networks into strategic assets.
