Syniverse Wins VimpelCom Group Data Clearing Deal
Syniverse Technologies (NYSE:SVR), a leading provider of
technology and business solutions for the global telecommunications
industry, announced today it has signed a data clearing contract that
extends its solution to six additional VimpelCom Group national
operators.
Under the new agreement, VimpelCom Group national mobile operators
in Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Armenia
will use Syniverse ACCESS S&E(R) GSM Clearinghouse Services to support
international GSM data roaming for their subscribers under the Beeline
brand. Mobitel, a VimpelCom mobile operator based in the Republic of
Georgia, selected ACCESS S&E for its data clearing and settlement
services earlier this year.
Syniverse's GSM clearinghouse solution will allow VimpelCom
operators ArmenTel (Armenia), Tacom (Tajikistan), Unitel (Uzbekistan)
Mobitel (Georgia), Ukrainian Radio Systems (Ukraine), VimpelCom Russia
and KaRTel (Kazakhstan) to achieve seamless and efficient data roaming
services for its subscribers by ensuring all data records are cleared
between the VimpelCom operators and their many roaming partners around
the globe in a rapid, accurate and cost-effective manner while
supporting a number of international standards and VimpelCom Group
business rules.
"VimpelCom required a trusted clearing partner who could
demonstrate an outstanding track record and the ability to handle our
seven group operators as a single-source supplier," said Oksana
Belyaeva, Marketing Director, VimpelCom Group. "We extended our
relationship with Syniverse from one to seven operators after
Syniverse's outstanding performance managing data clearing for
Mobitel."
Eugene Bergen Henegouwen, Executive Vice President, EMEA, for
Syniverse said VimpelCom's business is very important to Syniverse.
This is a strategic milestone in the Syniverse growth strategy as
VimpelCom is a leading operator in Eastern Europe.
"The extension of our relationship with VimpelCom to the entire
group of seven properties is a very real validation of Syniverse's
abilities and commitment to the region," he said. "Our approach of
demonstrating what we can do for potential customers in fair and open
competition is proving very effective, and I would expect our
successes to continue in the coming months."
Bergen Henegouwen said operators are increasingly choosing to move
their clearing business to Syniverse.
"We are finding that operators are looking not only for an
excellent, reliable and cost-effective solution but also for
first-rate customer service. Syniverse has a reputation for providing
all of these important attributes," he said.
Syniverse ACCESS S&E GSM Clearinghouse Services customers benefit
from improved time-to-market for new roaming services; revenue
assurance; compliance with industry standards regardless of roaming
partner; simplified exchange of billing records via a single point of
contact; and in-region multilingual customer service, 24 hours, 7 days
a week. Enhanced by Analyzer, Syniverse's feature-rich reporting and
data mining tool, ACCESS S&E also will provide the VimpelCom operators
with critical information the company can use to understand customer
behavior and be better able to develop appropriate marketing
strategies for its high-value customers who travel abroad.
