Nike, Alliance-Boots, Lloyds TSB, HSBC, Timberland, IBM and Vodafone Discuss Best Practice for Getting Employees behind Sustainability Initiatives at Ethical Corporation's London Summit on the 3-4th December 2007

New names are still being added to the list of leading HR and
sustainability executives set to participate in Ethical Corporation's
upcoming 'How to get your workforce 100% committed to Sustainability"
event, to be held in London on the 3rd-5th December 2007.

A recent survey conducted by KPMG and the Chartered Institute of
Personnel and Development clearly indicated that the challenge of
sustainability is making its way to the top of many corporate agendas.
58% of the 1,000 HR professionals responding to the Labour Market
Outlook survey said that 'Green' issues were becoming increasingly
    important to their organisations' strategies

That is why the Employee engagement event has been designed
specifically to focus on sustainability issues. Some of the key
speakers at the summit will include IBM's Head of Climate Change and
Annabella Coldrick from Cadbury Schweppes. They'll be discussing the
benefits of sustainable innovation through employee engagement - and
the best ways of making it happen. Both companies have recently
launched highly successful initiatives to encourage employees to
generate their own 'sustainability' ideas, compatible with their local
environment and their personal roles in the company.

HP and Swiss Re will specifically outline their initiatives to
communicate the threat of climate change to employees. Britta Rendlen
from Swiss Re's Sustainability and Emerging Risk team and Jeannette
Weisschuh, HP's Head of Corporate Affairs will explain how both
companies have been raising employee awareness and successfully
changing employee behaviour relating to climate change.

The practicalities of how to get the message out will also be
considered. Rainer VonMielecki, Director of Corporate Communications
at Dell and Andrew Cave, from RBS' Corporate Responsibility team will
look at the use of new media in communicating sustainability to
employees. HSBC and Earthwatch Institute will team up to outline how
working in partnership with an external organization can help improve
understanding of sustainability issues among employees.
