Office Depot Releases 2007 Corporate Citizenship Report



    Office Depot (NYSE:ODP), a leading global provider of office
    products and services, today announced the release of its 2007
    Corporate Citizenship Report, entitled: "Fulfilling Our Vision -
    Living Our Values." The report, which highlights the Company's
    commitment to community, ethics, diversity and environmental
    sustainability around the world, is available online at

    The Corporate Citizenship Report is an evolved version of Office
    Depot's past Community Relations, Environmental Stewardship and
    Sustainable Value Reports. For the second consecutive year, the report
    references guidelines established by the Global Reporting Initiative.
    Additionally, selected data has been reviewed by
    PricewaterhouseCoopers - ensuring both the accuracy of the data and
    its comparability with similar documents produced by Office Depot's
    peers in the global business community.

    Highlights from the 2007 Corporate Citizenship Report include:

    -- Community: Office Depot celebrated the donation of its one
    millionth backpack as part of the Company's National Backpack
    program.

    -- Ethics: Office Depot doubled the number of factories inspected
    in the Company's social accountability program.

    -- Diversity: Office Depot increased sales of products from
    Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs) to over half a
    billion dollars.

    -- Environment: Office Depot reduced absolute greenhouse gas
    emissions from North American facilities by over 10%,
    notwithstanding a 4.5% increase in facilities.
