IPWireless Opens Mobile TV Technology Development Centre in Denmark

IPWireless, a subsidiary of NextWave Wireless Inc., (NASDAQ: WAVE)
today announced that it has opened a new development centre in
Aalborg, Denmark, to meet the fast growing European operator demand
for TDtv -- a powerful mobile TV technology pioneered by IPWireless
that uses existing 3G spectrum to deliver high-definition,
multi-channel mobile TV, digital radio, and other multimedia services
at the lowest possible cost. The Aalborg facility will focus on
developing TDtv terminal designs, MBSFN protocol stacks design,
unicast/multicast integration as well as advanced development projects
based on Long Term Evolution (LTE) wireless technology.

The Aalborg TDtv development centre will support the commercial
deployment of TDtv technology across Western Europe. The team has
extensive background in telecom software development and 3GPP software
for W-CDMA implementations. IPWireless expects the centre to employ
over 40 engineers by the end of the year.

The centre will be led by Henrik Dalsgaard, a telecommunications
technology expert with over 20 years experience in the wireless
communications industry. Mr. Dalsgaard previously directed a major
research and development facility at Nokia, and was one of the
founders of the wireless start-up WirTek.

"TDtv technology provides operators the ability to profitably
deliver advanced, multi-channel, high-definition mobile TV services to
their customers. It's a proven technology that is now ready for full
commercial deployment," said Dr. Bill Jones, chief executive officer
and co-founder of IPWireless. "The exceptional engineering team at
Aalborg will play a crucial role in accelerating the rollout of TDtv
    in Europe."

"We are very excited to see an innovative company like IPWireless
make an investment in Aalborg," said Mr. Jesper Jespersen, managing
director of NOVI, Aalborg Science Park.

"We are privileged to have a wealth of highly experienced
engineering talent in the Aalborg area," added Jon Thorgaard, deputy
head of Invest in Denmark, a department of the Denmark Ministry of
Foreign Affairs. "40 companies and more than 3,000 wireless
communications professionals live and work here."

    About TDtv

TDtv is a 3GPP MBMS solution that provides mobile operators an
opportunity to profitably deliver multiple, high-resolution TV
channels, digital audio, or other IP data-cast services to an
    unlimited number of concurrent customers.

TDtv operates in the universal unpaired (TDD) 3G spectrum bands
that are available across Europe and Asia at 1900 MHz and 2010 MHz. It
enables UMTS operators to further utilise their existing TDD spectrum
to offer subscribers attractive mobile TV and multimedia packages
without impacting their 3G voice and data services which use universal
paired (FDD) 3G-spectrum. In addition, the technology supports network
sharing to further reduce deployment and operational costs.

In February 2007, IPWireless announced successful results from a
joint technical trial of TDtv conducted by Vodafone, Telefonica,
Orange, and 3UK. The trial demonstrated TDtv's ability to reliably
deliver up to 14 high-quality channels in 5 MHz of TDD spectrum with
coverage comparable to WCDMA - but with far fewer cell sites. The
trial also demonstrated the viability of dual-mode TDtv/WCDMA handsets
as well as the ability of the technology to support full mobility at
    vehicular speeds.

    About IPWireless

IPWireless deliver standards based technologies that allow
operators and public safety agencies to deliver reliable and
high-speed mobile broadband and multimedia services to consumers,
businesses, and emergency services personnel. Mobile broadband
networks powered by IPWireless technology have been deployed since
2002 across the globe. Its TDtv solution allows UMTS operators the
opportunity to offer mobile television and other multimedia services
using their existing spectrum. IPWireless' mobile broadband technology
was recently selected by New York City as part of the deployment of a
citywide, public-safety wireless network. IPWireless is a member of
the NextWave Wireless family of companies. For more information, visit
