Netezza Performance Server(R) Appliance Earns Internationally Recognized Common Criteria Certification to Meet Stringent Government Standards

Netezza Corporation (NYSE Arca: NZ), the global analytic appliance
market leader, today announced that the Netezza Performance Server(R)
appliance has completed and achieved the stringent and prestigious
Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level (EAL) 3+ certification.
Netezza's active participation in the Common Criteria evaluation
process signifies the Company's commitment to providing users with
    solid product security.

"Achieving Common Criteria certification and an EAL3+ designation
means that Netezza has obtained a critical assurance level that is
recognized by the international community," said Steve Williams, vice
president and general manager, federal operations, Netezza
Corporation. "With this certification, our government and commercial
customers worldwide are assured that Netezza's appliance meets
    stringent and standardized security requirements."

Common Criteria is an internationally recognized set of guidelines
(ISO 15408), which define a common framework for evaluating security
features and capabilities of Information Technology security products.
The standard consists of several predetermined evaluation assurance
levels, each one more stringent than the last. Common Criteria allows
vendors to have their products tested against a chosen level by an
independent third-party testing laboratory. Common Criteria
certifications are accepted by 24 countries through the CCRA (Common
Criteria Recognition Agreement), including the United States
    government.

Netezza partnered with Corsec Security, a consulting firm with
over nine years of validation experience in order to facilitate the
prompt completion of the evaluation process. "Corsec is thrilled to
have worked with Netezza on their Common Criteria evaluation," said
Matthew Appler, CEO, Corsec Security. "Common Criteria is a rigorous,
lengthy process and Netezza's dedication to this effort was apparent
from the start. Netezza's continuous hard work clearly exemplifies the
    commitment to their customers."

The Netezza Performance Server appliance is built specifically to
analyze terabytes of detailed data significantly faster than existing
data warehouse options, at a much lower total cost of ownership. The
NPS system stores, filters and processes terabytes of records within a
single unit, analyzing only the relevant information for each query.
Netezza has placed the CPU power next to the data, allowing the NPS
system to speed through processes that would occupy most data
warehouse systems for hours, or even days, thereby enabling dramatic
increases in productivity across the organization.
