Ariba Announces Spend Management Days 2007
Ariba(R), Inc. (Nasdaq:ARBA), the leading spend management
solutions provider, today announced the launch of Spend Management
Days 2007, a global series of events designed to drive business
excellence by building bridges between procurement, finance, IT and
legal. The series kicks off on October 9 in Milwaukee and will
continue with events in Toronto, New York City, Seattle, Minneapolis,
Cleveland, Scottsdale, London, Paris and Milan.
"Spend management remains the fastest, most efficient way to
improve profits, reduce supply risk and drive competitive advantage,
but it is still largely viewed as a procurement function, and that's a
limiting factor," said Christine Crandell, Vice President of
Marketing, Ariba.
In order to maximize the opportunities that spend management
presents, companies must foster collaboration among key functions to
drive their goals, including procurement finance, IT and legal.
"Procurement can identify savings, but finance must get them to the
bottom line. Legal can negotiate contracts, but procurement must drive
compliance with them. IT can implement back-end systems such as ERP,
but spend management solutions can maximize and enhance the value of
these systems and deliver greater returns on investment," Crandell
continued. "By working together, procurement, finance, legal and IT
can achieve their individual objectives and collectively make a
positive impact on the bottom line."
Designed for executives and practitioners across these functions,
Ariba's 2007 Spend Management Days provide practical, actionable
information that participants can use to evolve their spend management
initiatives and advance the way they think and do business. From
dynamic keynote speakers sharing stories of their challenges and
successes to unique tracks that provide targeted information on
driving cross-functional collaboration, the day-long sessions offer
fresh thinking and innovative approaches that will enable attendees to
get on the path to excellence and forge the alliances necessary to
deliver results.
