Peter Brandenberg Appointed Head of Textile, Leather & Paper Business Division



    Clariant (SWX:CLN), a world leader in specialty chemicals
    announced today that Peter Brandenberg is appointed Head of Clariant's
    Textile, Leather & Paper Business division effective immediately. He
    will continue to serve as member of Clariant's Board of Management.
    Mr. Brandenberg, currently responsible for Services and International
    Coordination - replaces Philippe Royer, who leaves the company and
    will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a leading
    European metals supplier.

    "Whereas I am disappointed by Mr. Royer's decision, I accept that
    his new position is a unique opportunity for him", said Jan Secher,
    CEO of Clariant. "At the same time I am delighted that Peter agreed to
    add another challenge to his long and successful career. He has
    streamlined the regional organization and the Group service functions
    to efficient service providers for the divisions. Under his leadership
    TLP will continue to develop successfully."

    Group Services and International Coordination, Peter Brandenberg's
    present responsibilities, will be dealt with as follows: Okke Koo,
    head of the Pigments & Additives division, will in addition be
    responsible for Europe, Siegfried Fischer, head of the Functional
    Chemicals division, will additionally assume leadership for
    Asia-Pacific, Dominik von Bertrab, head of Masterbatches division,
    will take on responsibility for North America. Johann Steiner, head of
    Group HR, will ad interim be responsible for Special Markets and Peter
    Brandenberg will keep responsibility for Latin America in addition to
    his new role. He will also remain responsible for the Group Services
    ad interim.
