IBM Joins Anglo American, Banco Real/ABN Amro, Nestle and BHP Billiton at Ethical Corporation's Responsible Business in Emerging Markets Summit



    IBM has recently joined the executive level cast of speakers,
    which includes representatives from Citigroup, Unilever, SABMiller and
    De Beers, who will gather at the "Responsible Business in Emerging
    Markets Summit" set to take place on 9th - 10th October, 2007, in
    London.

    Edan Dionne, Director of Corporate Environmental Affairs of IBM
    Corporation will discuss the best ways to approach the issue of
    climate change in emerging markets.

    She said: "The involvement of global companies like IBM in
    emerging economies offers opportunities to provide assistance on
    critical corporate responsibility issues such as climate change. IBM
    has been taking action in its own operations around the globe to
    improve energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and is
    sharing its experiences with its clients and partners to assist them
    in responding to these challenges."

    attend by those who are committed to social and environmental
    responsibility and want to capture the opportunities presented in this
    arena."

    Other topics to be covered at the summit include: anti-corruption
    solutions available to businesses; discrimination and equal
    opportunities management; supply chains in global economy; the role of
    business in capacity building; the bottom line case for responsible
    business in emerging markets.

    Over 150 senior corporate responsibility executives and
    environmental experts are set to attend the summit in London on
    9th-10th October.
