    About AMC-6 Satellite

Launched in 2000 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, AMC-6
is an A2100AX class satellite that operates from 72 degrees West. The
    spacecraft's twenty-four 36 MHz C-band transponders feature 20 watt
SSPAs; the twenty-four 36 MHz and four 72 MHz Ku-band transponders
feature 110 watt TWTAs; each of the Ku-band transponders is
switchable, transponder by transponder, into both or either the
    northern and southern hemisphere.

    About AR-SAT

Empresa Argentina de Soluciones Satelitales Sociedad Anonima,
AR-SAT, is a company incorporated by the Argentine Government under a
law passed in 2006. The company aims to develop the geostationary
orbital slots assigned to the Argentine Republic by means of
telecommunications satellites developed and built in Argentina, and to
operate them and provide satellite services to customers across the
Americas. Currently holding Argentine orbital slots 81 degrees West
and 72 degrees West, AR-SAT is ensuring service continuity to most
former Nahuel 1 customers using satellite capacity obtained through
strategic and commercial agreements with global operators. This is a
first step toward positioning AR-SAT among the leading satellite
operators in the region. AR-SAT satellite capacity will be further
increased with the deployment of Argentine-built satellites planned
    for the end of 2011.
